' - a fantastic new dance work by Kim Brandstrup, based on the myth of the Minotaur. The brilliance of Brandstrup lies in his disruptive understanding of bodies. In his choreography, humans are not upright Vitruvian men with a skull, torso and extraneous limbs; they are closer to quadrupeds with feet as equally expressive as hands and heads that nod, rub and gesture like insistent cats.

Rosemary Waugh, The Stage
'Kim Brandstrup’s ravishing new work puts Ariadne centre stage - Minotaur, commissioned by Deborah Warner as part of her enterprising new regime at the tiny Ustinov space, has the quality of a dream, each successive scene offering pictures of haunting encounters that feel at once surreal and real. It is incredibly beautiful and serene, with superb dancing from all concerned.'

Sarah Compton, The Guardian
'Theatre Royal’s Ustinov Studio delivers dazzling performances in Britten’s cantata and Kim Brandstrup’s choreography. Unfussy but atmospheric staging, strong material and dazzling performances combine to create a hugely satisfying evening. No tour planned? Somebody do something.'

Louise Levene, Financial times
'In a thrilling and highly original ballet, Brandstrup's layered interpretation explores Ariadne's feelings for her half-brother and conveys the Minotaur as a wronged protagonist.'
